Day 1 of this course will cover and help to implement treatment planning concepts for restorative, prosthodontic and rehabilitation procedures. Participants will learn
how to treatment plan as a team with staff, learn guidelines for treatment plans and esthetic procedures and how to increase patient acceptance of more complex
procedures.
Day 2 will provide the opportunity to cover the importance of mounted study casts in treatment planning. Participants will learn how to make centric
records and orthotics (stabilizing splints), when and how to equilibrate, the clinical steps in increasing the OVD and how to fabricate custom incisal guides.
Dr. Terry Tanaka is a Clinical Professor at the University of Southern California, School of Dentistry, Department of Graduate Prosthodontics. He has a private
practice in prosthodontics in Chula Vista, California. Dr. Tanaka is the founder and director of the TMD and Restorative Dentistry Study Groups held at the University
of California, San Diego, School of Medicine since 1982. He has published numerous articles and is widely recognized as a research anatomist and for his teaching
of advanced restorative procedures. Dr. Tanaka holds Fellowships in the Academy of Dentistry International, American College of Dentists and the International College
of Dentists. Additionally he is a Master, Academy of General Dentistry and a Diplomate, American Board of Orofacial Pain. Dr. Tanaka is a member of the Pacific
Coast Society of Prosthodontists, American Academy of Restorative Dentistry, American Academy of Orofacial Pain and the American Equilibration Society.
At the completion of Day 1 of this seminar, participants will be knowledgeable in:
1. How to treatment plan as a team
2. Important guidelines used in formulating comprehensive treatment plans
3. Why procedures are performed and how they can increase the efficiency and quality of dentistry performed
4. Important guidelines for esthetic procedures
5. How to increase patient acceptance of more complex restorative procedures
At the completion of Day 2 of this seminar, participants
will be knowledgeable in:
1. Preparation of the Functional Analysis
2. Proper timing of occlusal adjustment procedures
3. Establishment of canine guidance and correction of cross-bite occlusions
4. Establishment of anterior tooth length using the esthetic guidelines
5. Formulation and staging treatment plans for complex wear problems.
Supplies: For the hands-on session on November 19, 2016 please bring magnification eyewear; standard high speed with friction grip and low speed with latch
attachment handpieces.

8 hours of Fixed Prosthodonic lecture credit for those who attend the 11/18/16 lecture only; 16 hours of Fixed Prosthodontic participation credit for those who attend 11/18/16
lecture and 11/19/16 hands-on. (36 hours for those who complete an in-office protocol assignment and report).
