Dr. Duplantis received his D.D.S. degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Dental School in 1999. He then continued with Post doctorate training at Baylor College of Dentistry, earning a certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry in 2000. He has also received his Fellowship degree from the Academy of General Dentistry.
He has been in private practice since 2000 in the North Fort Worth, Texas area. In private practice, he
treats all ages with an emphasis on restorative and aesthetic dentistry. Dr. Duplantis is a member of Catapult Educations Speakers Bureau and has been a member of several Aesthetic and Restorative Continuums, most recently the Spear Education Study Club. Dr. Duplantis has always had an interest in “high-tech” dentistry and has been incorporating CAD/CAM technology in his practice since 2004. Formerly a CEREC user, he is now a user of the Glidewell.io chairside system. Dr. Duplantis has also written several articles regarding digital dentistry for various dental publications. He has helped various manufacturers on numerous projects and evaluations regarding different aspects of clinical dentistry. In addition to technology, Dr. Duplantis has a keen interest in adhesion and materials. He is a clinical consultant for Glidewell Laboratories, and AMD Lasers. He serves as a Key Opinion Leader for several dental corporations. Dr. Duplantis resides in Keller, Texas with his wife, Ellen, and his children, Austin and Ava. He is an avid cyclist, and enjoys traveling, fishing, and sporting clays in his spare time.
Dr. Ron Kaminer is a 1990 graduate of the State of New York ( SUNY) Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Kaminer has always been passionate about technology and was one of the first 100 dentists in the country to include a hard tissue Dental laser into his practice. Over the years Dr. Kaminer has taught Dental Lasers, technology and minimally invasive Dentistry to thousands of dentists worldwide. He sits on the Board of Catapult Education, is a frequent contributor to Mentor magazine, sits on the editorial board of Dental Product Shopper and acts as a clinical consultant to numerous Dental manufacturers. While doing all of the above, Dr. Kaminer practices full time in both his offices in Hewlett and Oceanside N.Y. focusing on Minimally Invasive and Digital Dentistry. He is a Fellow of The Academy of General Dentistry, member of the American Dental Association, and member of The Academy of Laser Dentistry.
Technology is here to stay, and the clinical team must be on board to accept the new reality or be left behind. This course is designed to help the office run more efficiently, diagnose, treat and produce quality dentistry, using technology. We will discuss many technological advancements and their impact on dentistry. Included will be caries diagnostics, scanners, mills, CBCT, advancements in indirect materials, lasers and digital workflows. Incorporation of technology into implantology for treatment planning will also be discussed.
• Discuss digital including caries detection, mills, CBCT, and 3D printers
• Learn the digital workflow for the dental team and laboratory
• Discuss the use of new indirect materials
• Visualize the restorative driven digital implant workflow, diagnosis and treatment
• Realize the importance of diode lasers
Hands-on portion to include:
• Caries detection aids
• Scanning
• Design of single unit restorations
• Cone Beam diagnostics
• Digital photography
• Curing light technology
• New direct materials (bioactive)
• Laser
These hands-on programs were designed originally for AGD Fellows striving to be AGD Masters. We have discovered that these programs can be valuable to all dentists from new graduates to the most experienced clinicians.
16 hours of participation credit for those who attend the 2 days of lecture and hands-on. 34 total hours of participation credit to those who attend the 2 days of lecture and hands-on, complete the assigned protocol in their office, and return to document the protocol assignment.
