As a leading practitioner, educator and speaker, David Landwehr, D.D.S., M.S. serves as a frequent lecturer and teacher for a variety of organizations at dozens of events around the country each year focusing on dentistry, endodontics and oral pathology. Dr. Landwehr’s ongoing work as an opinion leader has positioned him at the forefront of modern endodontic treatment.
A Wisconsin native, Dr. Landwehr studied as an undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and went on to earn his D.D.S. at the University of Minnesota in 1994. From there, he earned an M.S. degree and certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at The Ohio State University followed by specialty training in Endodontics at the University of Michigan.
Since returning to Wisconsin in 1999, Dr. Landwehr has provided exemplary care to patients and currently maintains a full time private practice at Capital Endodontics in Madison. Though his daily work focuses on endodontics, his dual certification makes him uniquely qualified to diagnose sources of oral pain. He has presented case studies and research findings both nationally and internationally, published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and served as an evidence reviewer for the American Dental Association.
Dr. Landwehr is also an advocate and Key Opinion Leader for Dentsply Tulsa Dental Specialties, the largest and most innovative developer of endodontic instruments and technologies. He also served as Chief of Endodontics for the Meriter Hospital general practice residency for more than 10 years.
Day 1 of this course will provide an in-depth learning experience that will provide you with the confidence needed to perform endodontic procedures from beginning to end with accuracy and efficiency. You will discover practical and scientifically proven techniques to incorporate into your root canal therapies that will aid in the predictable success of your procedures. Day 2 will take you through all aspects of the root canal treatment process, focusing on each element in detail. You will be guided systematically through access preparation and glide path management, innovative instrumentation techniques, irrigation protocols supported by activation technology and 3D fills in the most challenging canal systems. Develop a passion for endodontics from diagnosis to final obturatione.
Supplies: For the hands-on session on March 19, 2016 please bring 2-3 accessed teeth and loupes.
At the completion of this seminar, participants will be knowledgeable in:
1. The ability to accurately diagnose endodontic cases and create a comprehensive treatment plan
2. Developing a deeper understanding of every integrated step in endodontic therapy
3. Understanding a repeatable plan for the establishment of a glide path in any root canal anatomy
4. Understanding how the design features and working characteristics of a single file reciprocating
instrumentation system increase clinical efficiency and predictability
5. Maximizing clinical success with enhanced irrigation protocols to eliminate bacteria from the root canal
system
6. Creating a dense and repeatable three-dimensional filling in the most complicated canal anatomies
