The Chicago Academy of General Dentistry (CAGD) is that component of the Illinois AGD that produces the Chicago AGD Seminar Series. Beginning in September, we provide 4 seminars given by the best local and national lecturers that we can find. The content is determined by the Seminar attendees, and it is geared towards the interests of general dentists. We have an incredible lineup of topics and presentations our membership desires and we found experts in the area of Dental Sleep Medicine and the new specialty of Orofacial Pain that will prove interesting and stimulating as well as beneficial to our patients and in the subjects of interest to AGD members. The Seminar Series is held at Chicago suburban locations in beautiful settings with great food and interaction with the speaker and sponsors is encouraged. The Chicago AGD Seminar Series is committed to education and continues to provide a terrific value for our member dentists.

In addition, our loyal sponsors have partnered with us and continue to support dentists in their commitment to education and daily in our practices. We are so grateful for their support without which we could not provide the quality of education we have enjoyed through the years.

Dental Practice Models – Transitioning into private practice
Today’s dental environment offers many pathways and practice models after graduation. The ultimate pathway chosen, depends on many factors dictated by a well-defined vision. During this lecture we will review what Vision is and complete a vision defining exercise for a better understanding of the doctor’s likes and dislikes and ultimately choose the desired practice model. We also will cover how to find a position post-graduation for each model. Given most periodontists become either an associates or practice owners, we will spend some time understanding those two practice models.
Our three objectives are:

  • Discuss the various types of Practice Models
  • Discuss Advantages and Disadvantages of each Model
  • Decide which Model is best for you

Attendees will learn:

  • Understanding that Dentistry is a small business
  • Understanding how to learn the health of the practice
  • Understanding what KPI’s are
  • Understanding how to interpret the KPI’s
