On Friday, September 5, 2025, at Gibson’s Bar & Steakhouse in Oak Brook, the Chicago
component of the Illinois Academy of General Dentistry hosted a seminar featuring Dr. Lincoln Harris.
Dr. Harris is an internationally respected dentist with over 20 years of clinical experience. He is
known for his expertise in complex dental treatments and his ability to teach these skills to
dentists at all levels. As the founder of RipeGlobal, a leading dental education company, Dr.
Harris is dedicated to helping dental professionals grow in both clinical techniques and practice
management. He also runs a successful private practice and is recognized for combining hands-
on expertise with strong business leadership. Through education and innovation, Dr. Harris
continues to influence the future of dentistry around the world.
This course focused on rapid and effective treatment planning by enhancing decision-
making, communication, and efficiency in clinical practice. Participants learned how to
confidently plan treatments—from simple to complex—within minutes, while adapting to
financial and insurance constraints without compromising care. A key emphasis was placed on
mastering communication to increase case acceptance and reduce legal risk. The interactive
lecture used real clinical cases to show how providing too much information can overwhelm
patients, and instead highlighted the importance of being a good listener, building rapport, asking
meaningful questions, and guiding patients rather than directing them. Effective communication
involves understanding patients’ core concerns—comfort, aesthetics, function, and cost—and
confidently discussing pricing without hesitation. Treatment planning was framed as an act of
leadership, requiring dentists to balance clinical judgment with empathy and honesty, especially
in cases with uncertain outcomes where clear expectations must be set.
