The University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry held its annual Career Fair on January 27, 2016. The students had the opportunity to learn about professional, financial and scholarship opportunities that will be available when they graduate. The IL AGD met and networked with the students and discussed all the benefits that AGD has to offer dental students while they are in school and when they graduate. Transitioning from a student into a dental career is not easy. AGD offers expert career advice via the AGD Mentor program, the AGD Career Center and the online student transition manual: “You’ve Graduated, Now What?” This manual provides instant answers to the many questions students have about career choices, debt management, financial planning, goal setting and more. AGD encourages a commitment to lifelong learning early on by allowing students to earn up to 50 hours of continuing education that they can put towards their AGD Fellowship Award.
