The IL & WI AGD hosted our last 2-day Mastertrack program of this year at Henry Schein in Elmhurst. Dr. Jun Lim spoke on “Current Methods in Periodontal Therapy Including a Periodontist’s View of Implant Dentistry. Dr. Jun Lim is an assistant professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry and has a private practice in Chicago. A review and update on periodontal conditions and better options for treatment was discussed along with long term treatment plans to avoid unpredictable procedures and complications. The doctors learned about socket grafting and ridge augmentation in preparation for implant placement and had the opportunity to learn these procedures as well as crown lengthening on pig jaws. Friday night the doctors enjoyed dinner at the Woodale Hilton. Sixteen hours of hands-on participation credit was given for this course and for the doctors who wish to do the assigned protocol in their offices, 34 hours of participation credit can be earned. The IL & WI Mastertrack CE courses are an excellent value in continuing education and are not just for doctors striving to be AGD Masters. These courses are valuable to all dentists from new graduates to the most experienced clinicians. To To learn more about the excellent CE courses offered by the Illinois AGD go to ILAGD.org.
