The Illinois AGD hosted breakfast for the new D-1 Students and Faculty at Midwestern University school of Dental Medicine on September 1. Drs. Larry Williams, Cheryl Mora, Ryan Vahdani, and Dan Beer spoke to the new students about the importance of life-long learning, professional development and their responsibility to the community as future dental professionals. They discussed the role of the Academy of General Dentistry and how our organization will help them achieve their professional goals through continuing education, leadership, networking and advocacy. Also, there to meet and greet the students were Dr. Theresa Lao, IL AGD Board Member and MWU Faculty, Dr. Dan Beer, Dr. Ed Tobias and Dr. Sara Carroll. MWU student representatives, Nicole Ford D-4, Andrew Adiputra D-2, and Emily Koufus, D-2, talked to the new students about how AGD will help them with their journey from student to new dentist. The IL AGD welcomes the 2020 Class of MWU and looks forward to seeing all of them at our upcoming IL AGD events.
