Dr. George Zehak presented a participation course entitled “In Search of the Perfect Root Canal and an Update on Technology for Endodontic Treatment”, at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in Alton on March 23 & 24, 2018. A truly outstanding example of general dentists sharing with general dentists to enhance patient care!
Dr. Zehak is a lively lecturer, and one that encourages participation with his audience. He covered root canal anatomy, access, shaping and cleansing and gave real-world examples of techniques to properly fill curved canals. During both the lecture and Saturday participation, Dr. Zehak reviewed several file and rotary systems to help attendees feel comfortable with various methodologies.
In an effort to encourage attendees to do more protocol assignments and reporting, Dr. Brenden Moon, board member of Central Illinois AGD, repeated during the lunch hour one of the reports that he had done previously on implants. The purpose of this was to show attendees that doing protocol assignments in their offices is not a difficult task, and to drive home the point that they can attain another 18 hours of participation CE by putting together a basic Powerpoint presentation on their procedures. Accumulating 34 hours of CE for the price of a two-day course and reporting on it is about as inexpensive as good CE can be. Those in attendance were granted another 1 hour of CE for their attention.
