Day 1 of the course focuses on current trends, controversies and innovations treatment planning tips designed to assist in choosing and successfully implementing the latest lab-fabricated all-ceramic dental materials and treatment protocols. A brief update on developments in direct composite resin materials and long-term provisional materials and the latest trends in composite resin injection-molded techniques and composite resin options for complex cases will be discussed.
Day 2 will provide a unique hands-on approach to modern resin dentistry. Participants will perform injection molding of warmed flowable and paste composites create ideal margins, rounded emergence profiles, rock solid contacts and mirror-smooth restorations. Realistic soft tissue dentoforms, Bioclear Matrix System, and 3M Filtek resins will be utilized.
Dr. Damon C. Adams, a graduate of the University Of Michigan School Of Dentistry, is an assistant clinical professor at the University of Toledo, College of Medicine, Division of Dentistry. He lectures internationally focusing on updates in dental materials, the latest trends and innovations in dentistry, doctor-technician relationships, and techno-clinical perspectives. Dr. Adams is the editor-in-chief of Dentistry Today and is listed in Dentistry Today’s Leaders in Continuing Education. Dr. Adams is a member of the ADA, AGD, AACD, NADL, and a Fellow in the ICD.
Dr. Rose Holdren has been practicing dentistry for over thirty years, predominately in Washington State. She is Past President of the Kitsap County Dental Society, and active member of the WSDA and ADA. She has been on the Board of Directors for Children of the Nations and served on several medical/dental mission trips with her family. Dr. Holdren is a graduate of the Bioclear Learning Center, and is now a visiting instructor and occasional “Wing Woman” for Dr. David Clark. She delivers practical information with creativity, skill, and passion, while participants learn through a variety of effective strategies that foster rapid mastery of the Bioclear Method.
At the completion of Day 1 of this course, the participant will have a clear understanding of:
1. Ways to minimize all-ceramic failures/fractures
2. Evidence-based data versus future challenges with 100% zirconium restorations
3. Implementation of the new hybrid polycrystalline ceramics
4. The latest preparation and core build-up requirements for lithium disilicate and monolithic zirconia restorations
5. The latest translucent zirconia options
6. Cementation protocols and bioactive cements for lab-fabricated materials
7. Surface treatments for all-ceramics
8. Diagnosis and treatment planning considerations for lab-fabricated restorative materials
At the completion of Day 2 of this course, the participant will have a clear understanding of:
1. Performing the six steps to achieve rock-solid posterior composite contacts in conservative and deep caries cases
2. Modern posterior cavity preparations now taught in select dental schools
3. Injection of heated flowable and paste composites
4. How to use the new Black Triangle kit to measure, matrix, and restore small to large black triangles
Supplies: For the hands-on session on 11/23/19 please bring magnification eyewear, slow-speed hand piece with latch attachment, hi-speed hand pieces and your favorite composite instruments.
