Clear Aligner Mini-Residency
In this brand-new, mini-residency program, orthodontist Dr. Bruce McFarlane will introduce you to the world of Clear Aligners and share his vast knowledge, experience, and practical skills as a pioneer in the field. Participants will learn how to easily incorporate any Clear Aligner system into their general practice, and return to their patients ready to treat with confidence.
Dr. Bruce McFarlane is a distinguished orthodontist, educator, and mentor. Graduating from the University of Manitoba in 1984 with a Doctor of Dental Medicine and a Bachelor of Science, he then obtained his master’s degree in Orthodontics from the University of Western Ontario in 1992. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and an American Board-Certified Specialist in Orthodontics. For the last 29 years, he has been in private practice in Manitoba, Ontario, and California.
A former assistant professor of Graduate Orthodontics at the University of Manitoba, and accomplished author, Dr. McFarlane has established himself as a prominent speaker and educator throughout North America and Europe. For many years he has shared his vast knowledge and experience through ICANDO Inc. and by working as a KOL, speaker, educator, and consultant for Cerum Ortho Organizers, and now, Catapult Education.
Understand step-by-step clinical procedures, from taking records to delivering aligners, and monitoring your patients until case completion
Understand diagnosis and treatment planning for clear aligners, including working with labs and different technologies
Participate in the step-by-step clinical workflow: impressions, digital scanning, bonding attachments, interproximal reduction (IPR), monitoring and troubleshooting, refinement and revision for case finishing, removing attachments and polishing, and placing the patient in retention.

These hands-on programs were created for AGD Fellows aspiring to be AGD Masters, but we’ve discovered that they may benefit all dentists, from new graduates to seasoned practitioners.
16 hours of participation credit for those who attend the 2 days of lecture and hands-on. 34 total hours of participation credit to those who attend the 2 days of lecture and hands-on, complete the assigned protocol in their office, and return to document the protocol assignment.

The total tuition for Premasters for this course,, which includes the reporting session is $1075. MAGD’s receive a $100.00 discount and pay $975. Non-AGD member is $1175. The Illinois Academy of General Dentistry and the Wisconsin Academy of General Dentistry are pleased to present this program leading to Mastership certification in the Academy. To complete the Mastership Program, candidates must enroll for 600 hours of continuing education, 400 of which must be of participatory nature.
