She completed her entry-level physical therapy degree in Leeds\, England\, an advanced Master of Science degree in physical therapy at Rosalind Franklin University\, and doctoral and post-doctoral studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has over 30 years of experience as a physical therapist primarily in outpatient orthopedic settings and was certified as an orthopedic clinical specialist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. Her doctoral studies examined motor control in focal dystonia\, and her post-doctoral work examined functional and structural neuroimaging in patients with movement problems. She sees patients in the Physical Therapy Institute at Midwestern University with a physical therapy practice focused on neck pain\, orofacial pain\, and headache\, and dry needling for musculoskeletal dysfunction. Her research focus is to ask questions related to motor control that will lead to an improved understanding of musculoskeletal movement dysfunction particularly as it relates to orofacial pain and postural dysfunction. Dr. Prodoehl has authored numerous publications from her work. She is a Certified Cervical & Temporomandibular Therapist by the Physical Therapy Board of Craniofacial & Cervical Therapeutics. \nCourse Description:\nThere have been recent advances in the recognition of orofacial pain as a specialty in dental medicine that have implications for the general dentist. In this presentation\, we will explore the evidence-based approach to screening\, diagnosis and management of several orofacial pain conditions including trigeminal neuralgia\, headache\, and temporomandibular disorder. The focus will be on patient presentations that are likely to present in the general dentistry setting. We will discuss issues related to interprofessional collaboration in the care of complex patient presentations and will provide specific indications for referral. Casepresentations will show how interprofessional management can facilitate\nimprovement in patient outcomes.\nLearning Objectives:\n1. Describe the evidence-based diagnosis and typical management of trigeminal neuralgia\, headache\, and temporomandibular disorder.\n2. DESCRIPTION: Due to COVID-19\, the ILAGD quarterly board meeting will be held via Zoom on Sunday\, May 17\, 2020 @ 4:00PM.\n\nILAGD Board Meeting:\nThe Illinois Academy of General Dentistry Board of Directors \nThe Illinois Academy is incorporated in the State of Illinois as a not-for-profit organization. \nThe IL AGD Board of Trustees is mandated to meet twice a year\, but normally meets four times a year. The purpose of the Academy is to serve the needs\, to represent the interests\, and to foster \nthe continued proficiency of the general dentist through quality continuing education in order to better serve and promote the oral health of the public. \nThe IL AGD Board of Trustees is composed of dentist member volunteers that are committed to the mission and vision of the AGD.  The Board of Trustees are charged to: \n1.Determine the mission and purpose of the organization. It is the board’s responsibility to create and review the statement of mission and purpose that articulates the organization’s goals and means. \n2.Select the organization’s support staff. The Board must reach consensus on the staff’s responsibilities and undertake a careful search to find the most qualified individual for the positions. \n3.Support and evaluate the staff. The board ensures that the staff has the moral and professional support he or she needs to further the goals of the organization. \n4.Ensure effective planning. The Board must actively participate in an overall planning process and assist in implementing and monitoring the plan’s goals. \n5.Monitor and strengthen programs and services. The board’s responsibility is to determine which programs are consistent with the organization’s mission and monitor their effectiveness. \n6.Ensure adequate financial resources. One of the board’s foremost responsibilities is to secure adequate resources for the organization to fulfill its mission. \n7.Protect assets and provide proper financial oversight. The board must assist in developing the annual budget and ensuring that proper financial controls are in place. \n8.Build a competent board. All boards have a responsibility to articulate prerequisites for candidates\, orient new members\, and periodically and comprehensively evaluate their own performance.

He holds a secondary appointment the Department of Bioengineering\, College of Engineering and College of Medicine. \nAs Dean\, he is the CEO of the UI Health\, COD Dental Clinics System around Chicago managing a $53M enterprise with 700 Academic\, Clinical and Research staff and faculty. UIC and the College of Dentistry have a central vision & mission to address health equity issues and to improve oral health as a part of our total dedication to primary care. UIC\, ranked in the top 200 Global Universities\, and the UIC College of Dentistry is ranked in the top 1% of all dental schools/colleges based on the London Times Rankings (2015-2018). \nDr. Stanford received his BS (1984)\, DDS (1987)\, Certificate in Prosthodontics & Maxillofacial Prosthodontics and PhD (Biology\, Genetics & Developmental Biology; 1992) from the University of Iowa. Dr. Nudera completed his Endodontic training in 2005 earning his Endodontic specialty certificate as well as a Masters Degree in Oral Sciences. \nDr. Nudera is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. He has several national and international publications including multiple scientific research contributions to the Journal of Endodontics and a chapter in the endodontics textbook 3D Imaging in Endodontics. Dr. Nudera maintains a full-time private practice limited to Endodontics at Specialized Endodontic Solutions in Bloomingdale\, Illinois and downtown Chicago at Advanced Endodontics of Chicago.
